Be composed and sung by the students (containing original music and lyrics)
Be composed of music completely created (computer) and/or played (instruments) by the students
Have a creative composition and arrangement
Showcase the range, tone and quality of the voice/s
Be submitted for judging as an audio file
Have a hard copy of the lyrics and some information about the song submitted with the entry
Further information:
The original song needs to be composed, arranged and sung by students. This could be a group of students with different 'strengths' - a music composer, a lyricist and a singer or singers. The students will be judged on both the composition and the vocals (i.e not 'the performance'.) All involved would need to be named. Although the 3 finalists' songs will be performed live on the night, they won't be judged on that performance. The judging will have already taken place from the entry .mp3 file (music and vocals) and the hard copy lyrics.
NB: No more than 10 entries for each section (i.e. Y 1-3; Y 4-6; Y 7-8) will be accepted from each school
